Senator Hatch has got to Go!

            There must be something in the water in DC. Actually, it is that power corrupts, and people grow to really love the power, prestige and other benefits that come from being in Washington. Of those who have been there for awhile and have slowly changed no better example that I know of is Senator Hatch. How many of you know that of all of the Republicans he is most responsible for the successful nomination of Ruth Ginsberg to the Supreme Court. When he first came to Congress he was full of fight and set about representing the people of Utah. He chaired a committee which looked into numerous abuses by the ATF and helped craft a somewhat tough bill which clipped their ears for awhile.

            But as time has gone on he has become more and more part of the problem. Recently, he was a sponsor of the Dream Act which among other things granted instate tuition to children of illegal’s in this country. He has refused to fight the Law of the Sea Treaty despite its numerous problems. And most recently, he has been very deceptive in his support for what has become known as the Veteran’s disarmament act. This legislation, crafted by Chuck Schumer and Caroline McCarthy would lead to the suspension of hundreds of thousands of veteran’s rights to own firearms. He won’t even be honest about this bill.

            I could probably write a whole book about the despicable acts and lack of honesty that this Senator is guilty of. Senator Hatch has been in Washington too long and it is past time that he be retired.
