Fourth Estate or Fifth Column?

            Those in the know, will tell you that the New York Times (NYT) sets the pace for reporting in our nation. Bernard Goldberg in his book Bias states that Network News Producers always consult the NYT for that days leading stories. So if you know anyone who doesn’t believe that the coverage given to the Iraq war is slanted you can tell them about this. Arthur Sulzberger who is the publisher of the NYT gave the keynote commencement at the State University of New York (New Paltz). In that speech he began by apologizing to the students for his generation’s failure to prevent another foreign war, prevent the stench of government corruption and to fully protect “fundamental human rights” like abortion, immigration and gay marriage. Now who claims that the media has a liberal bias?

            Do any of you know about the former Taliban Spokesman and spin doctor who toured the United States while the Taliban were in power defending that horrible regime is now a student at Yale? Thousands of American students apply to Yale each year with outstanding academic records and test scores only to be turned down. But rest assured Yale has seen fit to make special arrangements and funding for the spokesman of the regime who pulled out women’s fingernails if they had nail polish on them, regularity beat women for the tiniest infractions of Islamic law and regularly carried out public executions of women by shooting them in the head in a former soccer stadium. Of course they protected Bin Laden and his training camps and lord knows what else! This could not have happened without many in our government approving of his admission.

            With moral leaders like this educating us is there any question why this country is in trouble? These same people who have never had dirt under their fingernails or any concept what people in Afghanistan faced under the Taliban or the Iraqis under Saddam do everything in their power to undermine our war with terrorists and the states that sponsor them. To me it is like they are stuck in permanent teenage rebellion thumbing their nose at all authority without any regard for the consequences of their actions. While we were fighting the Cold War against the Soviet Union (et al) they did their best to undermine that forty year war as well, making heroes out of Soviet Spies and constantly criticizing all actions taken to defend democracy, while apologizing for any and all criminal action perpetrated by our enemies. Unfortunately we will all pay for the traitorous actions of these idiots and enablers of Americans enemies.
