A CALL TO ACTION!
Why I Don’t Trust the Press!
It always amazes me when people in the press act shocked that we don’t trust their version of reality. My last article “Propaganda III” touched on some of the reasons why I don’t trust them. I would like to further expound on this matter. The Major Media (MM) shows a clear bias in reporting the war in Iraq. All one has to do is compare the number of stories about Abu Graib vs. the number of bodies which have been dug up in Iraq’s desert. How many of you know about the Children’s Prisons which we liberated. How much has been printed about the rape rooms used by Saddam’s sons. The list of atrocities perpetrated by Saddam’s regime would be nearly endless. Yet, instead we are regaled with fictional stories about “CIA Secret Prisons” and the horror of Gitmo.
Have any of your heard about the Barrett report? This report was finally released after 11 years regarding numerous illegalities by officials of the Clinton Administration. I highly suggest anyone interested to take the time to read this report on the internet. I also suggest that the crimes detailed are every bit as great as Watergate, yet the Republican controlled congress helped sweep this whole issue under the rug by agreeing to keep over one hundred pages secret. Not because there are any national secrets involved, no the only explanation is to simply to protect the guilty from exposure. Compare this issue to the so called Wilson/Plame/Libby affair http://www.aim.org/media_monitor_print/4765_0_2_0/ . What a difference the coverage has been. There has been more press coverage regarding the length of time this investigation took (because the Clintons dragged it out as long as possible) as well as the expense. Now that’s objectivity!
I have become convinced that the Democratic and Republican parties are two sides of the same coin. They each claim to be different but in the end follow the same policies. They both protect and scratch each others backs. What has been accomplished by electing a Republican President and both Houses of Congress? Business as usual.
Jeb Bush told a large NRA gathering after the election of 2000 that it was that organization which had elected his brother to office. What was the pay back? The assault weapons ban was allowed to expire and the Protection of Commerce Act was passed (after four years of wrangling). Big Deal! I personally would like to see a number of onerous gun laws and more importantly administration policies (mostly by the ATF) overturned. They treat us like the suckers that we are.
NAFTA and CAFTA are treaties, yet were passed by only majority vote. This was done by declaring these bills as agreements. This is a clear violation of the Constitution but is never mentioned. I can tell you why there is such hostility towards the Federal Government. The American People are fed up with being treated like cattle and having too much crammed down their throats. They won’t protect our borders. They spend our money like it was going out of style and force us to live by laws which they are exempt. I am tired of being forced to use a toilet that clogs routinely and wher vast quantities of oil are left out of bounds for drilling while we pay higher prices at the pump. Where clowns like Ted Kennedy are portrayed as a man of the people when he has absolutely nothing in common with us. Recently the FAA has stopped all development of Wind Farms. The excuse given is that they may interfere with Military Radars. I say BS. The real reason is that TK and his buddies do not want to look at the proposed wind towers twenty miles off the Nantucket coast. This country is controlled by an oligarchy no different than in Russia or Mexico. We just think that we have some control over our lives.
