Ok If Islam is so scientifically advanced name me one major contribution that has been made during the last century! Since none of the Arab countries are democratic how can you say that they live that way because they want to? They buy our planes, cell phones, computers, cars, etc, but hire foreign labor to run their oil fields. And I am sure that their women love being treated like cattle. Ask a homosexual how he likes living there. But we dare not criticize anyone because people like you will start flinging labels. Throw in Africa and the rest of the world, which is a way of avoiding the real issue. They don’t want to live like us. That is why millions are clamoring to get into this country. I am not saying that everything is perfect here. They love having their children die in infancy or malnutrition. They love ignorance and being powerless.

It is you who like to make the broad strokes. Unemployment in Egypt is over 50%. Do you really think that is voluntary? Much of Islam feels humiliated. Why? Because they come to the West and experience a veritable paradise. Then they look at their own countries where they have no future and they cannot blame sacred Islam so they hate us. That is called jealousy.

There is a reason why Iran, Syria, Hamas, Hezbollah, the PLO, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Yemen support terrorists organizations. How do you like things in Darfur? You are like so many in the thirties who refused to believe that Hitler was a threat. These people would kill you in a New York second without batting an eyelash.

Billions of aid has been given to the Palestinians. Yet they still live in squalor. Why, because they are used by their leaders for their own gain. They do not have a free press. They blame the West for all of their problems. You are a fool!

As I recall, what I stated was that they don't live in the Stone Age.  I said absolutely nothing about their scientific advancement.

But let's look at their scientific advancement and see if we can find out where they lie.  They have television, they have refineries, they have satellites, they have cell phones, they have computers, etc.  Personally, it is a hard decision, but I think they are a little closer to today than to the Stone Age.

And as far as advancement, Arabs have made huge advancements, specifically in the field of engineering.  Matter of fact, they're considered some of the best due to their strong work ethic.  You should read more before making accusations.

Since none of the Arab countries are democratic how can you say that they live that way because they want to? They buy our planes, cell phones, computers, cars, etc, but hire foreign labor to run their oil fields. And I am sure that their women love being treated like cattle.

Really?  Because, you see, I was under the impression from my Arab boss and three Arab co-workers that most people are pretty darn happy there.  And if they're not happy, they leave.

Just because you can't fathom their lifestyle as happy, doesn't mean it isn't.  For crying out loud, we must be the first actual happy people on the planet.  How did people live like that for the almost 6,000 years we have on record?  Must have been very depressing.

Ask a homosexual how he likes living there. But we dare not criticize anyone because people like you will start flinging labels. Throw in Africa and the rest of the world, which is a way of avoiding the real issue. They don’t want to live like us. That is why millions are clamoring to get into this country. Avoiding the issue?  No, I avoided nothing.  Africa and the 'rest of the world' (except apparently the USA) fit into your category.  You brought it up.  You created the category.  Why are you no upset that I helped you see who all fit into your category?

As for millions of them 'clamoring to get into this country', that's predominately Mexico.  I hate to bring that up since like you say, that would be avoiding the issue, but I guess they fit into your category also.  And nobody is happy in Mexico either.  Well, guess that ruins spring break.

Do they love malnutrition and dying children?  No, probably not.  Probably no more than we 'technologically advanced' people do.  Does that mean they're not happy?  What the flip is that supposed to mean exactly?

It is you who like to make the broad strokes. Unemployment in Egypt is over 50%. Do you really think that is voluntary? Much of Islam feels humiliated. Why? Because they come to the West and experience a veritable paradise. Then they look at their own countries where they have no future and they cannot blame sacred Islam so they hate us. I would love to see where you get your sources.  I think my Arab friends are laughing, actually.  America is a great place, I would never deny that.  And I would fight to the death to protect it.  But how good of a place America is has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on other places being good to.  Imagine this.  Different places can be good for 'different reasons.'

No.  Members of their government support terrorist organization, as well as some of the businesses.  The majority of the people don't.  But who cares???  Bomb 'em all anyway!!!

As for them killing me in a New York second, really?  You have obviously never been there, are unwilling to have anything to do with people here, and only hear what you want to hear about them.  There are people like that.  Many of them actually live in New York too.  Houston as well.   Better leave them alone though cause their american.

Billions of aid has been given to the Palestinians. Yet they still live in squalor. Why, because they are used by their leaders for their own gain. They do not have a free press. They blame the West for all of their problems. You are a fool!

Wow, that's the best you've got?  More than billions have been spent on aid in the US, and people here are still screwed up. I therefore fail to see what you're trying to say.

But let me try.  I hate Arabs, yes I do, I hate Arabs, it will always be true.  I don't care about them, I hope they all die, and if I ever see one, I'll shot him in the eye!!

How'd I do????\

Idiot.

Edit:  Just out of curiousity, you're not LDS, are you?

Wow!

What a trip! I have been busy the last few days and couldn't get on the forums. Looks like we are at war right here on the forums

I think that there are good people everywhere. I do believe that many people in the middle east do not like America and even want to kill us. I remember 9/11 and still get very upset when I think of it. I will go see the "World Trade Center" movie this week. I saw United 93, it was very good. I get very upset when I hear people on the left say things such as, "it is our fault that they hate us, our policies have made them feel the way they do."

The war is real and I feel that we must keep going. We will win, we are America. America is a very blessed Country. I feel so blessed to be an American. 9/11 will always be in my mind. I wish I could go back to 2001 and stop it but I can't. I will not rest until the Terrorists are gone. Someone made the statement above that the Terrorists could take us over. I'll go as far as to say that they got us good on 9/11. If they ever started to attack us in the streets, it would be a death wish for them. I know so many people with guns including myself who would defend our home land at all costs. That's the thing with America, if you could get through our Military (you won't) you will have to get through another 80+ Million citizens with guns!

Hey, isn't that putting words into peoples mouth?  I thought we were supposed to do that?

Besides, let me get this right.  You're telling other people to be closeminded because you think I'm closeminded.  Wow, that's profound.

Pretty well said nonleft. We are the real defense of the country. I think that more than arming ourselves we need to be a moral and religious people. I strongly believe what the Book of Mormon teaches about us prospering in the land when we are righteous. There are those who seek to lead us astray and take away our liberties. They attack us on many different fronts. Are there secret combinations? I sure believe so and they do a pretty good job at hiding themselves. What is our defense? We must educate ourselves as to the original intent of the founding fathers. We must understand what the best form of government is. If you study the Old Testament and the Book of Mormon the people were spared many times when they repented and relied on God. Their vast armies which relied on their own strength failed.

I am interested in what else people think we can do to preserve our nation?

Well said.  Having lived in New York City, it is a very difficult thing to deal with.  I would imagine it is the same for all of us, as it was an attack, not only on NYC, but on America itself.

It's nice to see people grateful to be American.  However, I would be worried at the idea of having so much pride in your country as to believe you could conquer anyone.  I don't think anyone should ever seek war, nor should they be prideful enough to say no one could ever conquer them.  It is well known, at least in the LDS church, that the United States will suffer huge losses and while be crippled greatly.  Does that mean we should have strong feelings for our country?  Does that mean that we shouldn't defend our country to our dying breath?  No, on both accounts.

However, you spoke of 80+ million citizens in the United States, plus the military.  Do you really want to know how many Arabs there are?  I dare to say there are many more than 80+ million.

The whole idea is ridiculous anyway.  If a war broke out between the two, it would result in WW3.

As for fighting for freedom, I'll try to find a really great quote I hear once about fighting to ensure democracy and the United States being a defender of it throughout the world.  Really good quote that strongly support the current need for the war in Iraq.

Yes, I would like to here that quote. I don't like war but sometimes it needs to be. I feel that we are doing the right thing in Iraq. I would like to here what it says.

I seem to have misplaced my notebook for my Revelations Institute class, which is were I got the quote.  I'm taking a class from the same instructor this semester, so I'll try and grab a copy then.

In the meantime, I'll keep looking though.  At the latest, I should be able to get it by September.
