A CALL TO ACTION!

Moral Rot!

Most of us have some experience with a child, who has been given everything without effort and therefore has no appreciation for what he has. We call these children spoiled. I submit that all of us are guilty of this crime to some extent. We have been given unbelievable wealth and opportunity, yet how many of us truly appreciate what we have. It also seems that many who have been given much are not only unappreciative but actually hostile to what they have. Let me give you an example. The “comedian ’”Bill Maher” (HBO) recently compared President George Bush to the President Ahmadinejad of Iran as being equally morally reprehensible and dangerous because they are both believers in a higher power. Rosie O’Donnell on the view said “Radical Christianity is just as threatening as radical Islam in a country like America.” If this were true than we would have many heads (of former ACLU attorneys) rolling around our streets. Many in Europe consider America a greater threat to world peace than Iran.  Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) recently stated that the world would be a better place if Saddam Hussein were still in power. Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA) previously has equated Hussein’s management of Abu Ghraib prison as to when we managed it (supposedly since Iraq has taken over operations the prisoners are begging for the Americans to come back). And of course Dick Durbin (D-IL) compared our management “as the Gulag of our time”, comparing us to Stalin and Hitler. I could give you hundreds of other examples.

This type of moral rot is directly attributable to the philosophy of "Moral Relativism or equivalency" and the rejection of the Judeo/Christian thought. Unfortunately, leftist teachers have corrupted our youth’s impressionable minds with all kinds of trash. Recently, a significant number of letters expressing hate for our country have been printed within the Herald Journal. These people are so blinded by hate that they do not even recognize how absurd they sound. I have yet to learn of anyone being dragged out of their homes to be arrested, tortured and killed by our fascist state. Yet, the former President of Iran Khatami is directly responsible for the arrest, torture and execution of numerous journalists and hundreds of students for simply protesting their government’s policies. This same person recently spoke at our National Cathedral as well as laceName w:st="on">HarvardlaceName> laceType w:st="on">UniversitylaceType> where he gave us a lecture about moral responsibility. In a clearer time frame he would have been tarred and feathered and this would have been just.

Call any country whose economic foundations are so fragile continue to stand when so many termites are eating at its core. The amount of ignorance regarding simple economic principles let alone what it takes to provide our high standard of living, clearly held by many of us is truly breathtaking. Will it require mass unemployment and freezing in the dark for us to finally wake up? But then again there is always football to watch or another survivor’s island episode to dull us even further.

Peace

You only need look at the reaction to the disaster in New Orleans to see what the moral rot has done. Many people are seemingly unable to take care of themselves. Fortunately there are still many good and honest people who volunteer to help.
