A constant message from our leftist press has lead to a false sense of security. We have been told time and time again that the war in Iraq is not about fighting terrorists. That Iraq had nothing to do with Al Qaeda or terrorism. There is tons of evidence that proves this viewpoint wrong but they have the pulpit and through sheer volume drown out dissenting voices. Have you ever read any story in the Major Media talking about the millions of captured documents? They even cherry picked data from the latest leaked NIE (national intelligence estimate) and used that to “prove” that fighting terrorists has made us more vulnerable. If you actually take the time to read what the NIE says one soon discovers that the report is far more nuanced than reported. Furthermore the report is a sad statement about what we are getting for our money from our intelligence community. The report is sophomoric at best.
Osama Bin Laden has no illusions about where the war on terror is being fought. He has made it quite clear that Iraq is the key battle field. A recent captured document states that over 4,000 Al Qaeda operatives have been killed in Iraq. But even if it were true that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 and training terrorists before the war it has now become the battlefront. If we abandon our efforts there the results are totally predictable. This would only embolden them! They would say, Osama is right, all we have to do is kill a few of them and they will give up. Like an animal tasting blood they would redouble their efforts and more and more potential Jihadist’s would be recruited. Osama and company truly believe that it was their efforts in Afghanistan that lead to the collapse of the Soviet Union. They believe that the West (especially America) is morally corrupt and inherently weak and can be defeated with patience and time.
They might be right. I am truly appalled at the lack of morality being constantly displayed by many leaders of the Democratic Party (and even many Republicans) and their minions. Regaining or holding onto power seems to be far more important than defending this country. It should bother everyone that rouge elements within our intelligence community are using selective leaks of classified material to affect not only foreign policy but the upcoming election. The fact that Democrats gleefully use this material without considering the consequences shows how truly bankrupt they have become.
Does anyone really doubt that one or more of our major cities will be attacked with nuclear weapons or other possible WMD’s in the future? Al Qaeda has made its intentions perfectly clear. They have received all of the permission that is required by Fatwa. It is only a matter of time. Then after the devastation and economic collapse there might be an investigation like the 9/11 commission where they will spread the blame around and conclude that it really couldn’t be stopped. This will happen. It is only a matter of when. They will undoubtedly attack New York City as this would have the greatest impact. They will probably also hit Washington DC and maybe Los Angeles or Chicago. The resulting chaos will lead to martial law and worse. I am convinced that this will happen.
I have written previously how Clinton used the Oklahoma City bombing for political gain and thwarted a true investigation into the real perpetrators. This means that many who participated are still free and potentially able to do it again or worse. Unfortunately, those in a position to do something about this are far more concerned about protecting the United States Governments reputation than exposing the truth. You see no one in government is ever really punished for incompetence or malfeasance. Only if you (as an employee) expose their corrupt practices will you be punished. The two ATF agents who were fired after Waco were quietly rehired with back-pay after things had quieted down. I challenge anyone of you to try and get your Senators or Representatives to look into this. I assure you that you will be ignored. What most people do not realize is that in order to get to Washington you must become corrupt. And once there the desire to stay in power further corrupts you. The powers that be have so corrupted the system that it is increasingly hard to oust those who have become corrupt unless they really screw up. The Democratic congressman Jeffords, who was caught with $90,000 dollars of FBI bribe money in his freezer, is still serving and will be reelected. The mayor of New Orleans Ray Nagin demonstrated complete incompetence yet was reelected less than one year after Katrina.
Until the American people wake up and get active things will continue to slowly spiral down into oblivion. Maybe that is what we deserve.
